Our family's roots can be found in France, which is where our ancestors came from and settled down in Poland in 1782. It has been a tradition of our family that all the relatives in the male line dealt with farming and all those in the female line with forestry and milling. Therefore the place we occupy now is a mill constructed in 1906. Since 1990 we have run the specialised company SemCo SGNiP of the size of 50 ha and we have also contracted 250 ha from specialist farmers. We dispose of a production base with storehouses in central Poland. We also have a specialised laboratory. Plants growing The basis for starting our processing activity constituted, and it still does, the growing of herbs, flower bulbs, oil plants seeds, ginkgo biloba and their sale both in Poland and abroad. Production of oils and trade of seeds We base ourselves on the production of oils containing EUFA (Essential Unsaturated Fatty Acids), including evening primrose, borage, wheat germs and black currant seeds. Moreover, we press flax, gold-of-pleasure, hemp, milk thistle etc.
		In the years 1992 - 1997 we produced 3 kinds of evening primrose creams and 5 kinds of ginkgo creams based on our oils and extracts. Our sales network consisted of ca. 110 wholesalers and buyers, including Cefarm branches. We stopped the production of the aforementioned creams when a lot of similar cosmetics of foreign origin appeared on the Polish market. Until the year 2000 we manufactured on a larger scale the preparation Evitol for production of which we had an audit. We still provide a lot of herb shops with this product. At present we still produce oils as a semi-finished product for further processing. To a large extend we deal with the international trade of oil plants seeds and oils which contain unsaturated fatty acids. Ginkgo biloba We belong to the very few businesses and institutions in Poland (along with the Agricultural University of Poznań) which reproduce and produce (vegetatively) ginkgo biloba cuttings. We have 1 ha of ginkgo biloba which we use as a production plantation. Leaves of this plant are used in production of medicines preventing embolism and arteriosclerosis as well as in production of different kinds of teas etc. Co-operation We hire as a an adviser the President of the Polish Seed Trade Association, professor Karol W. Duczmal, who works also as a co-ordinator for FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation of The United Nations). Partners Among our partners there are companies from Holland, United Kingdom, Finland, China and Yemen. At the moment we are discussing the possibility of starting a co-operation with businesses from the U.S. and Canada. Our company is capable to start a larger production of the above described products as well as of the products fit for human consumption.
